Ho Ho Ho

Since Christmas is just around the corner (can you believe it?!) here is an idea I thought of last night while staring at my stencils...lol. I stained the blocks and painted the front a cream color. Then I stenciled the letters on in black, sanded (my favorite thing to do) and stained the front after it was completely dry. I really sanded the front a ton because it gave it a really old, paint peeling kind of look which I love! Wouldn't these make great neighbor gifts? And really inexpensive too...I am going to sell these in my shop if you can't stand to make them yourself :) I personally LOVE the pumpkins behind...lol! I didn't really realize that till just now...oh well!

FYI

Here's the deal. I am starting a new "Family" blog so I can keep it private for all my close fam and friends.....(you know who you are) I love, love this craft sharing, money saving, tips and ideas blog, but trying to combine the two is just becoming confusing and kind of weird....so....if you would like to keep in touch with my life-life :) go here and leave me a comment with your email so I can send you an invite! I will leave it up for about a week before I go private. In the meantime ignore the blahzahness of the blog, I'm workin on it :)

Family room face lift

Who knew unknown gift cards could bring so much joy! We bought this sofa table the other day from RC Willey (I have been wanting one for quite a while) and had some unused gift cards under our account....happy day. My hubby knew as soon as I got it home it would be up and decorated within minutes.....and it was :) I added my pumpkins, my jars and my letter G! What do you guys think? I still want to add some things to the bottom and of course put something in that bare vase. I will probably change it at least a dozen times before I like the way it looks!

Also, here is a look at what I filled my jars with for Thanksgiving. And I have my Christmas fillers ready to go....lol! It's taking every ounce of restraint in me to not bust out the Christmas decor :( I want to soooooo BAD!

I am so in love with this website! Each day they advertise a scrapbook product that can be anywhere from 30% to 90% off the regular retail price! They leave that product featured for only one day so you need to act fast because they can sell out pretty quickly. Head on over there right now (click on the image below) to see the cute metal Christmas embellishment plaques!
You WILL become addicted!

Gold G turned fab!

Here is my seriously ugly letter from Hobby Lobby for $4.00. I decided to mod podge paper about 3/4 of the way around and with the remaining painted it black, sanded and stained it! I think it turned out great....now I just need to figure out where to put it?!

Need something to hold all those bows?

So I am trying to once again get in touch with my crafty self so I dug up a unused black picture frame from our closet. I totally forgot to take a before picture! Anyway....I painted the frame a cream color first (about 2 coats) then went over it, kinda sloppily (can you believe that is a word. Spell check didn't even come up? I know I was shocked too), with a rose pink color. I let it dry then distressed it by sanding it. I lined the inside part from the backing of the frame with paper and then added the brown ribbon and whhhhala! Instant bow holder...my girls have a gazillion bows and I might have to upgrade to a 16x20 frame just to fit all of them!

Great deal on pj's for kids!

There is a GREAT deal going on over at the Disney Store! Select PJ Pals are ONLY $5.oo! If you are like my family and have the tradition of opening new pajamas on Christmas Eve, these would be ones kids would love and for a fab price. I bought three pairs (was really bummed that Buzz wasn't included in the sale :( and with tax and my shipping my total was $21.63...How great is that! So hurry up it ends today!

Halloween 2009

Better a little late than never! We had our annual Halloween party at my parents and this was the first year the adults dressed up. The theme for the adults was celebrity couples! We had a great time and ate yummy yummy cheese soup and chilli! I can't believe it's already over!

Look at Hannah's pose....she cracks me up!

Adam and Jeana as Sampson and Delila. What's funny about this is Adam is bald (by choice) and this night his hair was soooo long! And cute little Landon was Spiderman.

My parents as Sunny and Cher....Perfect!

Not much to say about this one. Just that it didn't surprise us coming from Josh.

Brad and I as King Kong and Faye Ray

The kids and grandma and grandpa played don't eat Casper (a fun twist on Don't Eat Pete that we use to play as kids.)

He would much rather eat the frosting then put it on the cookie!

The girls were very concentrated.

I mean seriously, have you seen a cuter 2 year old? He loved just stabbing at the pumpkin. Should I be concerned?

The finished product. Can you believe I actually had to carve them all. Brad was wanting to do a very hard detailed thing and after about an hour and a half I told him he needed to go and get dry ice so I did the Frankenstein on the other side of his pumpkin!

In action

Hope your Halloween was as great as ours!
