Halloween Decor Galore!

I cannot tell you how much I {LOVE} this time of the year.....Halloween is my all time favorite!

I finally got my beloved black table all decked out (just to have my almost two year old want to destroy everything in site)  Maybe that's why I keep putting it off?!  Ha!

I love these jars!  You can find the tutorial here on how I made them.  Please don't judge the post.  This was 4 years ago mind you....lol!  You can do so many

things with them as far as seasons and holidays.  A must have in your home decor in my opinion :)

You can never go wrong when glitter is involed.  I once saw a shirt that said

"Glitter is my favorite color"

I wanted it desperately, to bad it only came in sizes 2T - 6T :(  LOL!

 

I got this ADORABLE guy at a boutique here in Utah called "The Hive"

I just love all of his detail, especially the eyes!

Wall art made out of toilet paper rolls....really?!

I think my family thought I was crazy when I told them if they saw an empty toilet paper roll to please save it for me.  I know this because the only one who brought me the rolls was my 7 year old.  She would carry one into me and say "Mom.  Whatever your doing with these it's gonna be awesome!"  It turned into a game for her and she would ask her siblings if they needed to go to the bathroom because there was only a tiny bit of toilet paper on the roll to be used up and then she could give one to me...lol...I love that girl!

Ok, so here's what I have been up to after saving all these rolls for over 3 months now...

1. Gather supplies (toilet paper rolls, clothespins, glue gun)

2.  Smash rolls

3.  Once you have all the rolls smashed cut them into equal pieces.  I ended up getting about 6 pieces.  You will need 5 per flower.  So one roll will make one flower.

4.  Start to glue the petals together.

5.  Finished flowers

 

6.  Start to take the flower and arrange and glue them together to your liking.  I like clothes pinning them even though it was hot glue.  That way I wouldn't have to sit and hold it until it cooled down.

7.  If you have single pieces left over glue them wherever you would like.

 And there you have it.  Some fun wall art.  You could definitely paint these to match any room.

Vase makeovers

Are you sitting down?  It has been a looooong time since I actually sat down to do something crafty....and I finally made time to do a super quick, super easy, super cheap craft project.  I'm sure you have seen the painted vases floating around Pintrest.  I gathered up some dollar store vases (I did get mine at Dollar Tree) and made up these pretties.

And if your wondering about the vase in the back, I actually found this hideous looking vase (it was this awful red color) at Pier 1 and all I did was hot glue jute around the entire thing....it's one of my favorite pieces in the house!  So there ya go, some really inexpensive ways to spice up your home :)

Master Bedroom

I am really wanting to redo rooms in my house and I'm thinking of starting with the Master bedroom!

It's one of the most important rooms in the home, it's where you go to unwind and relax from the craziness of life so it's seem only appropriate!

So I took to one of my best friends....Pintrest!

Here are some adorable things I found...

I am just in love with the color scheme.  I have been stuck in the same old....burgundy, brown and blah!

This would be a much different, but needed change for us!

Napkin Wreath

I have had a styro wreath that has been hanging around my craft closet for almost 6 months now! I found these super cute napkins, YES NAPKINS, at Hobby Lobby for about 1.20 for a big package of them. First I undid the napkins and glued them all around the wreath to cover the ugly green. Then I opened the napkins completely and laid them print side down and pinched the middle of the napkin and put a staple to hold it together. Then I hot glued the pieces on! Before you glue the last couple of napkins on make sure you wrap whatever it is you want this to be hung with...jute, ribbon etc. I did jute, but I am going out today to find some big, wide black ribbon....would that be cute?! Happy Friday all!

The Idea Room

Twine and Speckled Eggs!

I decide to revamp some ugly plastic Easter eggs into these...





I used some cream colored paint, I did have to do about three coats so it covered the plastic. Once that was dry I took a dry toothbrush and dipped it into my Midnight Blue paint and speckled away! Then I glued the twine to the bottom half of the egg. SOOOOO EASY!
I do have to make a ton more today to try and fill up these! Be sure to check back tomorrow for some more fun egg ideas!
