Kindergarten flashcards

In an effort to help Olivia with her letter recognition, we struggle a bit in that department, I decided (on an extremely bored filled night....I think Brad was at a BYU game) to make flashcards. I am in love with Photoshop and sit daily and think of what I can do, besides scrap booking. I am loving making invites and cards and I will show those on tomorrows post so check back :) Anyway, here's a peek at the cards!

I'm not quite done yet. I need Brad to get his butt to another game :)

Fall pictures

Just in case you didn't know this small tid bit of info about me....I HATE getting pictures taken. All the "Kids don't ruin your hair!" "Stay clean" "Don't pick your nose, you'll make your nostrils red..." We got our fall pictures done and had fun doing it I must say. I was kinda bummed that I didn't get a better group shot of the three of them, but oh well. Maybe at Christmas!

Oh sweet Boston....this was the only descent picture we got of him. The rest looked like this...

Livielou

Mrs. Photogenic goes to....Hannah! That girl loves a camera.

Really the only good one of all three of them together :(

I thought this one was cute. Them hugging the crap out of each other!

My favorite...and yes, I'm the one who took it, thank you very much :)

Keeping those little monsters busy

Maybe your kids are driving you out of your mind with "Mom? How many more days until Halloween?" I know mine are.....so, since I can't make Halloween come any faster I found some cute ideas to help keep those little monsters busy...

White chocolate ghosts made by just melting white chocolate and spoon shaping it onto parchment paper....add chocolate candies for the eyes and a sucker stick! Let harden in fridge for at least 5-10 minutes.

Witches are covered snowball cupcake thingys (you know what I'm talkin about)

For this spooky pumpkin window...use poster board, cut out desired face and place orange tissue paper over the cut outs....turn a lamp on for a great effect!

A Frankenstein made out of a melon

Adorable pumpkin bats, painted and add wings made out of poster board!
Let your kids go crazy painting acorns and making different pumpkin faces.

Hope these ideas help and hope that you don't pull out your hair...
Only 10 more sleeps :)

Dosen't a soft pretzel sound yummy?

A couple of weeks ago we made some super yummy soft pretzels as tribute to one of my first jobs at the Pretzel Maker (good times) Ok not really, they just sounded really goooood.

An attempt at trying to mix the dough

Oh my super cute mama! Blahhhhhh.....this is Hannah being the photog. She's fired.

Ready to go...

They were gone that night! These were just plain, but you lightly dip the front in butter and sprinkle some garlic powder, parmesan cheese, or cinnamon and sugar. Use melted velvetta cheese, spagetti sauce or honey butter for dipping sauces!
For the recipe head on over here!

:(

I will be attending to my little boy who has so graciously taken the flu on. I won't be posing for a few days, instead I will be doing my motherly duties and wiping noses, getting Gatorade, tickling backs not to mention sanitizing, bleaching and febreezing my house (and car). Oldest child is at the docs as we speak to see if she too has graciously taken on the oink. She's afraid if you get the swine flu you really will start oinking! Will follow up in about 30 minutes and then I'm out :)

FYI : Hannah doesn't have the oink! Hallelujah!

Be sure to scroll down and check out my finished project!!!

Fabulous finished project!

I had such a great time doing this project! Like I said, I can't take credit for the idea...the wonderful sisters over at Shanty2chic had this fab idea.

I purchased everything seen here at Hobby Lobby....with exception on the candle stick holders. I had purchased them at Hobby Lobby, but then found some that seemed better, more sturdy, at Michaels.

I then painted everything in Lamp Ebony paint from Americana

Next, distress the crud out of everything! Everyone knows I don't do a project without taking my frustrations out on it :)

I then stained my wood pieces to give it a more finished look.

Hot glue your jute around the rim of the lid

Glue your pieces together using a very firm and sturdy glue. I used Elmer's Nano glue. You have to use this carefully and sparingly because it foams (bad experience from past projects :) The Shanty sisters recommended Gorilla glue. I waiting 24 hours before filling my jars, but I am soooo in love with them!! For Christmas I plan on filling them with Christmas goodies and the letters for JOY....in between holidays fillers like these can be used.

Happy crafting!!!

A little paint here, a little paint there

How great is this!

I am in the mode to paint and I really, really want to do this to Olivia's room, but I just need a little motivation. It looks like a lot of work but the end result is fabulous! I would match the colors to this comforter from Target
